Silver Teardrop II

July 25th, 2007

There was nothing that ceases to quiver a bond that was determined. Anchored and stubborn, she stood her ground. Her face wavered, from gray to gold to black. An uncertain oath of frustration and surrender. But how relentless the waves could be, just relentless would be her conviction as well. He still lay there, folding his fingers with hers though he was confusingly senile. An old amateur of what he’s gone through. She could not feed him through her plastic spoons, knowing he’d bite it off. The wind howled in pain and involuntary, leaves flew off towards an unknown course. She coveted their apathetic role, hoping she could also fly away like the rest of them. He responded with meek sorrow, and her defiance gave way. The ground beneath them quaked, just as a stray splinter marred a long strip off her skin, it muted both of them. This would not allow her to let go, as she stared deep into his eyes, a silver tear escaped her eye. He held her close as she shattered in muffled sobs. They’ve tasted dust and wind over their parched mouths. A rhapsodic ordeal. Many would still come, but she held on tightly; unrelenting and ready.
